CAPS LOCK is the most underrated feature of the typical keyboard,
aside from the home and end keys of course. it's for that moment
that comes maybe 6-7 times in your computing career where you just
want to type everything bigger without holding shift for a long time.

and if that sounds boring to you, it's also one of the few keys that toggle
on the keyboard. and you can use it as a switch for the user when designing
software. it's awesome that way because it usually turns on a light when it's
active, almost like the software is integrated with your keyboard somehow.

i applaud whoever created the caps lock key. Douglas A. Kerr from Bell Labs
(of course) patented the concept, but i don't know if they actually worked on
it or if they simply issued the patent.
