Fri, 31 Jan 2025 16:03:09 UTC wide footprints i find myself a minimalist. i don't really have any apps on my phone, mostly just a lot of music, and my daily activities on the computer usually only take a terminal and web browser. i use the suckless WM, terminal emulator and image viewer. i use a hardened ROM. i minimize the amount of accounts and connections i have world is kinda uncertain, and a lot of the new stuff just feels kinda evil. i'm glad there are still ways to mostly remove yourself from it. new administration in the united states is pretty bad. people speculate that TB cases will rise, and they are going to remove the climate protections, programs for poor students and such. moving the country towards family and god, but it's worrying to think about the people who lose here i'm reading a book about Spotify right now, how they came to be and their contracts with major labels, the way they operate and such, i've download all my music as FLAC or ripped it from CDs for about a year and a half now, and really I don't know why people would do any different. i guess streaming makes it convenient, but then you still have bandcamp. i already knew Spotify behind the scenes, but the book details it really well and i've learned a lot more. it's called Mood Machine if you want to read it. by Liz Pelly ▗▗ Frank Ocean - Blonde
